Having owned this for a year, it is a beast in terms of sound quality. Amazingly crisp. 5.25 inch side-firing subwoofer and a 5.25-inch tuned passive radiator for huge natural bass. You can hook this up to any iPod, iPhone or other MP3 device, and then switch between the two inputs whenever you wish. Sometimes I even hook the TV up to it and it produces great sounds.

Only downsides are that it does not play CD’s and it takes 8 D batteries – would be nicer to have a rechargeable battery but not surprised given how huge this classic boombox is (the size also kind of restricts it to AC outlet use). For the price though, you won’t find better value in a speaker system / boombox style.

Our Electric Alligator Lopper made me think of the Toro Ultra 12 amp Electric Blower / Vacuum we got a few Fall’s ago. Both of them are extremely light and functional for their tasks.  Upon use you will notice how quiet this is compared to other gas-motored leaf blowers. Gas motored leaf blowers are also oily, carburetors leak, and the gas exhaust is not pleasant either. Those living around you will be pleased! Oil and gas of course are becoming more and more expensive so those residual costs add up. Not to mention the Toro has more suction power than a gas blower. The only limiting factor is that you have a long cord you have to drag around the yard to keep your Toro Ultra plugged in.

Converting from blower to vacuum is done with the touch of a button on the Toro Ultra. Taking out the bag and emptying is a simple process. Toro Ultra also has a cast magnesium impeller for some bigger yard work that gets caught up like stones or sticks.

It is clear winter is nearing when you start to think about space heaters. Being in a position of having to buy a new one, some research led me to the Lasko 755320 Ceramic Tower Heater with a Digital Display and a remote control.

Upon receiving and setting up the Lasko 755320, the first thing I noticed was how quiet the this heater was. Like a fan on setting 1. The oscillation factor was huge right away as well; unless you’re heating an extremely small room, it makes sense to have the hot air move around the room. Perfect way to balance the room temperature so you aren’t too cold or too dried out from the direct heat. Always enables the thermostat function on the heater to be more accurate relative to what you set it to.

Having a remote control is nice, though I usually get up to double check the display anyway (that said the machine beeps loudly after you change a setting). The beeping is the only mildly annoying thing about this machine but I don’t alter the settings enough to be too bothered by it.
