First impressions upon getting it ready to go was how light it was. That said, the Hoover Tempo did a much better job with pet hair compared to our older Bissell machine. It’s about as loud as the more expensive vacuums but also is similar in power to them too, which is a good thing if you like more dirt / hair being pulled out from the deepest depths of the rug. I would guarantee that most people randomly buying this vacuum are going to underestimate the power they are getting for the price. One neat feature I noticed is that most of the vacuum cleaners start to have a terrible odor that emanates from the air being blown out as you vacuum, but that was not the case with the Hoover Tempo.

The Tempo is serviceable on hard wood floors; certainly not perfect, but most vacuums aren’t, especially the more powerful ones. Only other issue we’ve noticed is that belts will need to be replaced after some time, but you can the Hoover 40201160 WindTunnel Agitator Belts for just $2.50 at Amazon. If you buy a few extra belts with the initial Hoover Tempo purchase, you’ll be saving even more money.

One more good idea before you go – grab the Hoover WindTunnel Type Y Vacuum Bags Microfiltration (with closure). It’s a 9 pack for $8 to keep you set for a while.

Most people tend to procrastinate on mopping a hard surface kitchen, living room, etc. The Roomba iRobot Scooba Hard Surface Cleaner revolutionized the niche by providing a chargeable device that would that would persist in cleaning all spots of the floor on it’s own that it can physically reach. The fascinating thing about seeing the Roomba iRobot do it’s work is that it will consistently work over the dirtiest areas until it can sense that they are clean. You won’t need your mop, though there are spots on the corners or sides that the iRobot will not be able to clean so you’ll need to do a bit of work. Considering the bulk of the floor is done by the iRobot, you should be okay!

After you set up the pump primer with the given instructions, you can use either vinegar or iRobot 5950 Clorox Scooba Cleaning Solution which comes as a deal with the remanufactured iRobot, if you so desire.

Read the battery instructions carefully, because you want to take good care of it for these rechargeable batteries are expensive. You will want to charge it almost 4 hours upon use, and if the iRobot is not used regularly you may need to charge it immediately before you use it so it is warmed up enough to complete the cycle.

Again, one of the best deals around is the Remanufactured Roomba iRobot Scooba Hard Surface Cleaner at Amazon for 149$ instead of the normal 400$ price tag. It’s amazing that even with new, different Dyson vacuums coming like the DC24 and DC25, one of the older models is still selling at a high rate.  The Dyson DC07 AllFloors Cyclone Vacuum has been around since the early 2000′s but if you look at Amazon’s reviews and sales, the DC07 continually is one of the best.

It is a little known fact that the DC07 has the one of the biggest bins at almost a gallon.  It also has a reversible wand tool, one of the few Dyson models that does.  Also in terms of power, the 270 Air Watts sets the standard.

When inquiring about a Dyson DC07, remember there is the Dyson DC07 All-Floors model and then the Dyson DC07 Animal model.  The difference is the accessories that come with the Animal model for pets.  In turn you get the Carpet Care Kit (Dysolv spray and Zorb powders), Low-reach floor tool and the Turbo Animal Tool (an air powered brush for heavy cleansing of pet hair).  This animal model is good value if you want to save a little money from the Dc14 / DC15 animal models but still have the same functionality.  So long as you clean / empty your bin at a reasonable rate this Dyson’s suction power will not clog up and pet hair will no longer take over the home!

Since the Dyson DC07 AllFloors Model does not come with the animal accessories, it is just 399$ at Amazon.  The Dyson DC07 Animal Cyclone Model has the animal add-ons for 100 bucks more (499$ at amazon).  However part of the reason for making this post is because we have had a handful of customers email in saying they found incredible discounts on both Dyson DC 07 Animal and All Floors Cyclone Vacuums on eBay. I think the best was a 310$ All floors model, and I’m not talking used / refurbished!  That is crazy getting any Dyson vacuum that cheap.

Since we last analyzed the market ( Hoover S-3765 WindTunnel Deals ), Hoover Windtunnel S-3765 vacuums have decreased in price a bit. Most prefer the bagless hoover vacuum but in addition the bagged Windtunnel is available at a cheaper cost. We’ve found that in terms of suction power only Dyson vacuums compete with these things. The brush is extremely powerful and can do a number on the stairs or wherever you feel like using it.

The cord is long and the handle makes it easy to move around thus it’s an easy vacuum to wield. If it is bagless than that is another convenient feature, since you can clean the bin simply. My only pet peeve with this product is that a lot of the extras have no place to be on the vacuum itself so you’ll need to bring them around too. It’s not perfect but if you are not ready to spend 300-500 on a top of the line Dyson vacuum, this would be a good consolation prize. The Hoover S-3765 WindTunnel Bagless / Bagged Vacuum is listed in stores for 350$, but it can be found for $175 on Amazon or buy hoover s3765 Windtunnel on ebay even cheaper (low $100′s).

Amazon is still selling the Dyson DC 18 all floors Slim for $458 but the price has lowered for the DC18 slim on ebay. You’ll see a lot of ebay auctions end around 300$ for a new Dyson DC18 slim! It is an absolute steal, so sign up to join eBay auctions and see for yourself if you haven’t yet.

The reviews are showing that people are loving the fact that they can get Dyson power at almost 1 / 3 the weight of the other Dyson vacuums. Of course Dyson would not have such a sleek vacuum without having The Ball feature for maneuverability around tables, couches, or other furniture. The accessories for this newer Dyson model are much less cumbersome to attach and use. The brushbar is essential for areas that need deep cleansing.

The Dyson power is still there and the vacuum will never lose suction and the HEPA Filter lasts a lifetime as well. The 5 year warranty ensures that. Since this is an all floors Dyson Vacuum instead of a Dyson Animal Vacuum you are missing a few add-ons like carpet cleaning products and floor and Mini-turbine tools, useful for those with plenty of animals and / or hard to reach areas.

The best deals going on are still at eBay where there are plenty of auctions to buy Dyson DC 18 all floors Slim for 300$ or cheaper! Generally at Amazon and LNT you would need to pay 400-450 for this model.

When considering a purchase of a Dyson Animal Vacuum it’s important to figure out which features you value most.  Are you looking for a lighter vacuum?  More maneuverability?  Power?  In general, Dyson’s are versatile enough to handle any task but there are some notable differences as well.

Before the Dyson DC18 Slim was released, the Dyson DC15 Animal was one of the first vacuums with The Ball, a maneuverability feature with a simple wrist movement that allows you to get under furniture and other objects easily.   Your center of gravity is naturally lower now and in turn you’re vacuuming with ease.  The lifetime HEPA filters remove a lot of the hassle and extra costs associated with cheaper vacuums.  The clear bin exhibits the suction power and provides easier cleaning afterwards.  The DC15 also has a motorized brush bar for deep, powerful cleaning.

Dyson DC14 Animal is the original, and one of the first vacuums to really tackle pet hair efficiently.  It does not have the maneuverability of the Dyson DC15 or DC18 Slim but it does have more power with 250 airwatts.  Even without The Ball for maneuverability, it still has a nice low reach to get under or around any objects.  The Dyson DC 14 may look like a bigger vacuum than the Dyson DC 15 because in mass it actually is, but in fact it weighs a bit less than the DC15.   When you buy a dyson dc14 animal you’ll notice generally they are a good deal cheaper than the DC15, though you can always find great deals at eBay on all Dyson’s and sometimes they are on sale elsewhere too.
